BtVS/NCIS/SWAT/CSI/CSI:NY/CSI:Miami/Numb3rsD.C.I.S.- Demon Criminal Investigative Service. The President decides to create a team to deal with the newly discovered demon problem when it crosses over into normal cases and into the public eye, they travel across the U.S. to help solve cases and to recruit new members to train and send back out as local agents to work w/ regular government teams so the main branch in Sunnyhell doesn't get called for the small stuff eventually, as they would be in the beginning and for the first few years.
He sanctions a team to be made and has a complex built upon the old Hellmouth in Sunnydale (After it's collapsed, they went in and fenced the entire town including the college in w/ wire and magic before leveling the ground out), the complex includes a lab, housing, hospital, therapy center, a shopping mall (w/ restaurants and theaters), and kennels. The entire place is only open to the staff and guests, not the general public (ex-an army base). Includes a helicopter pad w/ a helicopter and an airstrip w/ hanger and a few
private planes.The main investigative team(who are able to transfer back to their original team as experts in the demonology field after 2yrs w/o argument, though their bosses don't know this fact) consists of Tony(NCIS, is sick of the way things are after Gibbs returns from Mexico, Kate's death is optional), Danny(CSI:NY, sick of the treatment of Mac and the rest of the police force after the Tanglewood crap), Ryan(CSI:Miami, sick of the teams treatment because of Speed being gone, wether or not he dies is up 2 you), and Greg(sick of being switched between the lab and the field w/o consulting him); they all asked for transfer to a new town, Tony knew their reps and wanted them on his team.
The main demon-expert team members(permanent unless ask for transfer to a police force for a demonic specialist in a high concentration area) consist of Xander(sick of the scoobies pushing him away), Wesley(kicked out of angels crew for the Conner thing), Andrew(went w/ Xander for whatever reason), Faith(pardoned by the President on Xander's recommendation if she worked w/ them) and Ethan(sick of treatment by Giles, wants to make sure DCIS doesn't become like the initiative); Xander got to pick this part of the team for whatever reason you choose; he picked them for their ability to think outside
the box, to do what's necessary and for their research and migic abilities.The crew from the movie S.W.A.T is brought is as reinforcement and security on field assignments. The only local FBI team that will work w/ them is Don Epps team from LA. The complex also employs peaceful demons as lab security, hospital staff, therapists and to run the mall. There is also a K-9 unit consisting of both regular canines of various breeds and hellhounds. Wether or not they employ other animals such as drug-sniffing cats or miniature horses is up to you.
All canon parings and deaths are optional; slash or not to your hearts content. Please, someone write this! I know I've seen similar stuff, Vo's written 'Demon Ballistics' and a fic where Xander was on the NCIS and various CSI teams several times, but I have yet to see
this. ^.^

How about Daniel Jackson from SG1 joining after he's decided he's had enough of working for the SGC after SG1 is disbanded and no longer being in close contact with the rest of his former team which has become more like acquaintances than friends. The President could decide that it would be a good idea to have experts in linguists and/or anthropology in case there is a problem with first contact and Daniel has experience with unusual situations. You could even include Blair Sandburg as an anthropologist recruited after the disaster that was his press conference. Blair feels he no longer fits in with the
rest of Major Crimes but cannot ignore the years he spent as an investigator in everything but name.Steph

Xander as the leader of the area because home sweet hellmouth and the stories giving everyone the shivers and wondering what the hell they got themselves into. Andrew making dinner and the group showing up only to find naked yoga with Andrew, Xander, and Faith. *Snicker* I can see Tony thinking its a perk. Even better you could have House as the head of medicine and snarking at everyone with Wilson just sighing in response.

I would think Xander would be all too aware of the dangers of having all your eggs in one basket (especially out in the open like that) so soon after the Watchers' Council was blown up. Wouldn't he point this out and recommend they instead take over a "decommisioned" existing base or government building and do any necessary expansion underground like the Initiative did to minimise exposure?
One idea - It would be interesting if the more specialized and exotic parts of the base (or even the whole base) like the reference library, hospital, malls, labs, Hellhound kennels, housing, etc. were constructed in a pocket realm (setup instructions looted from Wolfram
& Hart or the Mayor's records). The realm could also be used as a travel hub so agents can get to other major cities quickly to minimize travel time since so many demonic incidents would be time critical. A "key" would be needed for portal/base access (either an
enchanted item of jewelry like a necklace or ring, or a mystical tattoo).A re-purposed base or building wouldn't attract as much attention as all new construction since there would be minimal new activity, but a base built entirely in a pocket realm would be better to allow for greater security and a smaller personnel force which could be
dispatched anywhere with minimum notice. Maybe only "office" space in cities across the country for secured travel destinations. Whichever chosen, the base definitely needs to be
hidden since the demonic world would target them.As a bonus, can you see Gibbs, Horatio or Mac having cases which intersect with Tony, Ryan or Danny? They keep getting frustrated by getting kicked out of the investigation, they can't access any information, they can't get their "experts" to track them or hack any

But as to mu idea for building on the Hellmouth, I kinda figured that since Xander was born there he would be able to tap into the energies/magic left over after it and use them to guard/hide the base. Plus its already cleared land and the have room to set up the mall & housing to have everything they would need for everyone, including demons, whereas if you used an existing base you'd need to rebuild a lot of it to be able to house demons. Plus the energy/chaos would help Ethan when he had to work magic by giving him an outside source. As for the 'pocket realm', there is a possibility of collapse or of it becoming unstable should there be to much energy/magic done in it. As for attracting attention, they're a new government agency, they are going to attract attention no matter what. They'll just attract more if their base can't be found at all. And I can see demon targeting them, but no worse than the average terrorists considering they're only dealing w/ crossover cases or something like Wolfram & Hart. Can't you just picture the massive temper tantrum that Gibbs, Mac, Horatio and Greg would throw? Especially when they discovered that none of them could reach their missing techs? The look on their faces when one of the guys would ride in w/ the whole D.C.I.S. crew (Tony, Ryan, Greg, Danny, Xander, Wesley, Faith, Ethan, Andrew and the SWAT team; possibly even Daniel, Jack and Blair if the future author wants to add them) only to take over an investigation, maybe even a multi-city one that crossed over Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, D.C. and Miami? ^.~
